Who Made the Ark of the Covenant?


The ark of the covenant is one of the most mysterious and revered objects in the world.

It was said to have been made by God himself, and it was used to hold the Ten Commandments. According to the Bible, the ark was carried by the Israelites during their exodus from Egypt. It was also present at many key moments in Jewish histories, such as the Battle of Jericho and the dedication of Solomon’s Temple.

The Ark of the Covenant is a sacred object that was made for the Israelites.

Who Was Given Instructions to Make the Ark?

The instructions to make the Ark of Covenant were given to Moses by God Himself on Mount Sinai. The exact instructions are described in the Book of Exodus, where God commanded Moses to “make an ark of acacia wood.” The ark was to be about two and a half cubits in length, a cubit and a half in width, and a cubit and a half in height. Furthermore, according to Exodus, the ark was to be made of gold-plated acacia wood and include a cover of pure gold, with two cherubim figures made of gold on the top and surrounded by a mercy seat made of gold.

The instructions also stipulated that the ark should contain the Tablets of Testimony, Aaron’s rod that budded, and a golden jar of Manna, which were all to be placed within the ark. In addition, the instructions stated that the gold-plated poles should be inserted into the ark, through which the priests should carry it when transporting it. God also commanded that the ark should be kept in a special tent and that only the high priest should be allowed to enter it. It was also commanded that the ark should be kept with its poles in position and never be removed.

The construction of the ark was then completed by Moses, who was assisted by the people of Israel. It was carried from place to place in the wilderness and then finally placed inside the Tabernacle when Israel arrived in the Promised Land. The people celebrated its safe arrival with great joy and reverence, and the ark then continued to be the center of worship for the Israelite nation for many years.

What Were the Materials Used to Make the Ark?

The top of the ark, known as the mercy seat, was made from solid gold. Two cherubim were placed on either side of this seat, which protected the tablets containing the Ten Commandments that were kept within the ark.

What Dimensions Did the Ark Have?

It measured approximately 45 inches long, 27 inches wide, and 27 inches high. What Happened to the Ark of the Covenant and Where Is It Now?

Still, other theories include that it has been moved around over time and is currently located in places like Ethiopia or Ireland. Unfortunately, since no one knows for sure where it is or if it even still exists, we can only speculate its final fate.
