What Are the Blessings of Putting God First?

Introduction – What Are the Blessings of Putting God First?

In our fast-paced society, it’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day rush and lose sight of what’s important. We believe that success and happiness come from acquiring more things or climbing the corporate ladder.

But what if I told you that there is a better way? A way that leads to lasting happiness and fulfillment? The answer is simple: put God first.

When we put God first, we open ourselves to blessings. Below are just a few of the many blessings of putting Him first.

Blessings of Putting God First

The Centrality of God

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Matthew 6:33

When you put God first, everything else falls into place.

He is the axis around your life; the more you center your life on Him, the more blessed you will be. Everything else—your work, family, health, and relationships—will be enhanced when you prioritize God.

But it’s not always easy to do this. We get so busy with the day-to-day demands of life that we can lose focus on what’s truly important. That’s where prayer comes in. Prayer is our way of communicating with God; through prayer, we get re-centered and refocused on what’s truly important.

When you put God first, every other part of your life falls into place.

Mercies From Heaven

Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed,
Because His compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.

Lamentations3:22-23

When you put God first, you open up your life to His amazing mercies.

God is always there for you, no matter your circumstances. He never leaves your side and will always be faithful to His promises. His grace is sufficient for you, and He will always provide for your needs.

His mercies are new every morning, and He is eager to shower His blessings on you. So be thankful for the many blessings from putting God first in your life!

Peaceful Answers to Prayer

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7

When you put God first, you open yourself up to receive His blessings. One of the most common blessings is the peace that comes with knowing that you’re doing what’s right. You can pray for guidance and then rest easy knowing you’ll receive an answer.

That answer might not always be what you want to hear, but it will always be what’s best for you. And that peace extends beyond your personal life—it can spill over into your professional and family life.

You’ll find that you’re more patient and understanding with others, and you’ll be better able to handle stress and adversity.

A Secure Future

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Jeremiah 29:11

When you put God first, He secures your future. You may not be able to see what lies ahead, but God does. He knows the plans He has for you; they are good plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).

So, even when things are uncertain, and you don’t know what the future holds, you can rest assured that God does. And because He loves you and wants what’s best for you, you can trust that His plans for your future are good.

So, if you’re feeling unsettled about the future, remember that God holds your future in His hands. And when you put Him first, He will take care of you and give you the wisdom and direction you need for whatever lies ahead.

Hope and Purpose in Trials

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be and complete, lacking nothing.

James 1:2-4

When you put God first, you can have hope and purpose even during trials. Trials will come; that’s just a fact of life. But when you have God as your foundation, you can face anything that comes your way.

Why? Because you know He is in control and has a plan for you. You may not always understand that plan, but you can trust Him to work everything out for your good.

And when you keep your eyes on God, you’ll find that He will use even the hardest times to bless you and to draw you closer to Him. So whatever you’re going through right now, know that He is with you and will see you through it.

Fellowship With the Holy Spirit

Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, 2 fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

Philippians 2:1-2

Another benefit of putting God first is that you get to experience fellowship with the Holy Spirit. You can’t put a price tag on this—it’s priceless.

When you have fellowship with the Holy Spirit, you have a constant companion who is always there for you. You never have to feel alone because you always have the Holy Spirit with you. And not only that, but the Holy Spirit also gives you guidance and wisdom when needed.

If you’re ever feeling lost or confused, you must ask the Holy Spirit for guidance, and He will give it to you. It’s that simple. So if you’re looking for a blessing that money can’t buy, then fellowship with the Holy Spirit is it.

Conclusion

When you put God first, you open yourself up to countless blessings. You learn to trust in Him and His divine plan for your life, even when things don’t make sense. You find purpose and meaning in life and are more content with what you have. You experience love and joy that you never thought possible.

No matter what you’re going through, remember that you can always turn to God for strength and guidance. He is always there for you, and He will never forsake you. Put your faith in Him, and allow Him to lead you to happiness and success.
