Inspiring Scriptures to Lift Up Your Soul
It has been 4 years now since we started this season of an economic downturn. So once again I am encouraging people by posting some uplifting Bible verses for hard times.
Honestly, I see this as a season where what truly matters is revealed and what we made our paper gods out of is burned away. These inspirational verses will be comforting and encouraging t0 you as you work through the issues that have brought on these hard times.
Adversity can either be your friend or your enemy. You can either allow it to make you into a stronger person, or you can let it destroy you. That choice is yours.

My Favorite Uplifting Verses During Adversity
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
Nothing Can Separate Us from God’s Love
31 What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? 32 Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? 33 Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself. 34 Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.
35 Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? 36 (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”) 37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.
38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Faith and Endurance
2 Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. 3 For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. 4 So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.
God’s Discipline Proves His Love
1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. 2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.
17 LORD, you know the hopes of the helpless. Surely you will hear their cries and comfort them.
19 When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer.
76 Now let your unfailing love comfort me, just as you promised me, your servant.
2 Corinthians 1:5
5 For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ.
4 Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled.
Final Thought On One Of My Favorite Uplifting Scriptures.
12 So the LORD blessed Job in the second half of his life even more than in the beginning. For now he had 14,000 sheep, 6,000 camels, 1,000 teams of oxen, and 1,000 female donkeys. 13 He also gave Job seven more sons and three more daughters. 14 He named his first daughter Jemimah, the second Keziah, and the third Keren-happuch. 15 In all the land no women were as lovely as the daughters of Job. And their father put them into his will along with their brothers.
16 Job lived 140 years after that, living to see four generations of his children and grandchildren.
Job is the poster child for going through hard times. He lost everything!
However, that wasn’t the ending of his life. The hard times that Job experienced was just for a season. He lived to see the blessings of God in what really mattered. The second half of his life was more blessed than the first.
There was a time in my life where I honestly asked God when He asked for volunteers to play the modern version of Job and I accidentally raised my hand.
I had lost absolutely everything. However, I took comfort and was encouraged and uplifted by this verse.
If God would do it for Job, then He would do it for me. I feel I am the poster child for God restoring someone to a new life. I know that He will do it for you!
