The Privilege of Partnership with God

What an incredible privilege it is to be called into partnership with God! As Christians, we have the opportunity to join with Him in the work He is doing in the world. In this partnership, we get to experience His power, walk in His purposes, and spread His gospel.

Key Takeaways:

  • We are chosen by God to be His partners.
  • Partnership with God requires complete surrender and obedience.
  • God equips us for the work He calls us to.
  • Our partnership brings God glory and advances His kingdom.
  • God blesses our faithfulness and rewards our partnership.

We Are Chosen by God

God takes the initiative to call us into partnership with Him. What an astounding act of grace that the God of the universe would choose flawed human beings to cooperate with Him in His work! As Jesus told His disciples:

“You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit…” (John 15:16 NKJV)

We have done nothing to deserve being selected as God’s partners. It is solely by His loving choice that we get to participate in His plans. He sees past our weaknesses and limitations and invites us to join Him anyway.

The invitation to partner with the Almighty is a high honor and a sacred trust. We must respond to this privilege with humility, gratitude and a deep sense of purpose.

Complete Surrender and Obedience

To truly partner with God, we must completely surrender our lives to Him. We are no longer living for ourselves, but entirely for Him. Paul describes this total devotion:

“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20 NKJV)

As God’s partners, we give up our personal agendas and submit fully to His will and His ways. We obey Him even when it is difficult or costly. We trust that He knows what is best and will work all things for our good. Like clay in the potter’s hand, we yield to Him so He can shape us and guide us (Isaiah 64:8).

Complete surrender is the only way to experience the full power and blessing of partnership with God. Holding anything back will hinder what He wants to do in us and through us. We must daily surrender ourselves fully to Him.

Equipped by God for His Work

One of the joys of partnership with God is seeing how He equips those He calls. When God gives us an assignment, He provides the strength, talents and resources we need to accomplish it. The apostle Peter assures us:

“His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue.” (2 Peter 1:3 NKJV)

We do not need to fret about our capabilities, because our capability comes from Him. Our job is simply to be available and surrendered to God’s work. He will empower us with spiritual gifts, talents, skills, wisdom, courage, and everything else required for the task at hand. What an amazing God we serve!

Our partnership role is to depend fully on Him rather than ourselves. As Paul discovered:

“And He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” (2 Corinthians 12:9 NKJV)

God gets the glory when the greatness of the work accomplished exceeds our natural ability. Our limitation highlights His limitless power. By leaning wholly on Him, we get to experience Him working through us. What a privilege!

Bringing God Glory and Advancing His Kingdom

God invites us into partnership for an eternal purpose – to bring Him glory and see His kingdom expand on the earth. He desires to display His love, power and wisdom through His people.

Jesus made clear our mission as His partners:

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16 NKJV)

As we walk in surrendered obedience, God will use us to reflect His light in the darkness. Our good works, empowered by His Spirit, cause others to give glory to God.

What incredibly meaningful work we get to be part of! The kingdom advances and God is glorified when people come to know Christ because of our witness, when we proclaim God’s truth, when we selflessly serve those in need, and when our lives display the reality of His love and grace.

What a privilege to be kingdom builders alongside the King of kings! We have the honor of representing the risen Lord Jesus to the world. God uses our partnership to extend His salvation and blessings to more and more people.

Blessing and Reward for Faithfulness

God blesses those who faithfully walk in partnership with Him. They experience the joy and peace that comes from fulfilling their divine purpose. They see prayers answered and needs met as they depend on Him. They receive supernatural strength and encouragement to press on in the work.

God also rewards our loyal partnership. At the judgement seat of Christ, He will evaluate our service and sacrificial acts done in His name.

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.” (2 Corinthians 5:10 NKJV)

The Lord is pleased to honor and compensate those who have given their lives to His purposes and glory. The rewards we will receive in heaven are surely beyond our wildest imagination!

The greatest reward of all is hearing our Master declare, “Well done, good and faithful servant” as He welcomes us into the eternal joy of our Lord (Matthew 25:21). What an amazing day that will be!

Let us keep that glorious day before us as we give ourselves fully to advancing God’s kingdom in partnership with Him. All our efforts for His name’s sake are worth it when we consider the eternal rewards to come.

Embracing the Privilege of Partnership

Living in partnership with the Almighty is a highest privilege imaginable. God offers us the priceless opportunity to walk with Him as co-laborers in His grand plan of redemption. May we respond to His invitation with awestruck gratitude and complete devotion.

Despite our human weaknesses and limitations, God entrusts us with His transcendent purposes. He empowers those He calls to accomplish more than we could imagine possible. What an honor to be used by the Lord Most High!

Let us rely on His strength, obey His voice and serve His goals. Our partnership brings glory to God as we shine the light of Christ in a dark world. God blesses us abundantly as we give ourselves to His work.

The joys of heaven beckon as we fix our eyes on the reward Christ has prepared for those who give their lives to Him. Through faithfulness to our calling, may we hear Him say, “Well done, my good and faithful partner. Enter into the joy of the Lord!”
