The Best Live Sound Mixer For Church Worship

Tags:

When choosing a live sound mixer for a church, there are many factors to consider. However, one of the most important factors is the size of the church.

A digital ;mixer may be the best option if the church is large. However, an analog mixer may be the better choice if the church is small. Other factors to consider include the number of channels, the type of input/outputs, and the features offered.

If you’re looking for a live sound mixer for your church, you’ve come to the right place. In this article, we’ll look at what we believe is the best live sound mixer on the market, the Behringer X32 Compact.

This unit is a smaller version of the Behringer X32.

Behringer‘s Midas preamps are featured on the compact X32. The X32 compact has motorized faders instead of the rack-mountable model. This gives it a traditional digital mixer look.

Behringer also gave the X32 customizable options to users based on their preferences, such as assigning different functions for the automated channel faders.

The color display is visually appealing and enhances the user experience by having a horizontal scribble strip running horizontally across the front of the unit.

You can customize the strip by changing its color and adding channel names to it.

Key Features:

  • Inputs & outputs back panel on the X32 compact contains 16 Midas preamps, six aux outputs, and six aux inputs. By default, the main outputs are outputs 7 & 8. The X32 compact has a built-in mic for talking back. You can also use the output to connect an external mic. On the back panel, you will find dedicated monitor outputs and AES 50 connectors that can connect to stage boxes.
  • The User Interface
The default interface has eight input faders and eight output faders. There is also a master fader. The channel range buttons on each side allow you to scroll through both outputs and inputs. Using the channel range buttons on either side, you can simultaneously have 16 inputs and 16 outputs channels. The effects strip controls are enabled when you select a channel. You can adjust the gain for each channel from this menu. You can apply phantom to each channel strip, and a reverse phase button will bring all of your mic inputs into phase. To remove low-end frequencies, the X32 compact features a low-cut button. There are several view buttons located along the front panel. These buttons allow you to adjust the parameter selected in the 7-inch color display.
  • Bus Send Section
You can adjust how you use mixed buses in the bus sends section. The buses can be used to group channels and apply effects. They can also be used for setting up monitoring mixes. The DCA group option in the console’s output section allows you to adjust the levels on multiple channels using a single fader. This saves time and effort.
  • EQ
The EQ has four settings: low, low, mid, high, and high. This section has an important feature: any one of the EQ bands can have a low, booster, or shelf cut. A real-time analyzer shows you live visualizations of the signal to help you stay in control and quickly identify any feedback or noise.
  • Software and apps
There are apps available for many devices, including Mac, Windows, and Linux operating systems. A license is also available to download Traction, a Digital Audio Workstation. This allows you to start mixing and recording right away.

Pros:

The Midas preamps are distinguished by their sound quality and clarity. This versatile app allows wireless connectivity to a variety of devices. The integrated effects sound professional.

The EQ of the Behringer X32 allows you to get the sound you desire on both your input and output channels.

Cons:

The faders can make a lot of noise and are sometimes a little slow to operate. The build quality could also be improved. Some X32s have experienced system crashes and intermittent output sound problems.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the best live sound mixer for church worship is the one that fits the specific needs of your church. There is no one-size-fits-all answer to this question. Consider the size of your church, the type of music you play, and your budget when deciding.

However, with that being said, we believe that the Behringer X32 Compact is by far the best mixer for live church worship for the price, features, and sound quality it provides.
