Good Bible Verses For Teens

What Do You See When You Look Back On Your Teenage Years?

If you asked what a person’s teenage years were like, most people would say it was the greatest time of their lives; and it should have been. However, most will only remember the wonderful carefree time they lived in; not quite to the stage of the responsibility of an adult, but much more than that of a child.

The teenage years are a time of learning all things, responsibility in life; how to manage your life; going to work, and learning what real independence is all about. It’s a time to learn about relationships and how to make them work; the “give and take” of dealing with someone, not only the opposite sex but with co-workers and friends.  This is a time to learn to control your emotions and how to forgive and forget when something is amiss. How many times during your teenage years did you forgive your best friend for things they did or said, or how many times did they forgive you? It is a time we learn to handle these issues so we can forge ahead into our adult life.

Bible Verses For Teens

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

NOTE: God made you to add to His glory, to raise Him up and praise Him. He has your life planned and will always be there to help you when you need a boost-up.  Pray to God to reveal those plans to you at the perfect time and in the perfect place. With all God’s plans, they are revealed in God’s own time. Wait patiently and you will have all the answers you need.

Ephesians 4:29 Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.

NOTE: In today’s world the, teenager, along with many other ages, go through life in public places speaking disgusting and repulsive words and not caring who hears them; oftentimes small children standing nearby them, this certainly is not the way to impress the younger generation on how to live their lives. Think about Jesus’ instructions in the bible it tells us that our words hold the power of “life and death.” So be careful what you speak, it may be your future you’re talking about.

Ephesians 5:1-2 Imitate God therefore in all you do, because you are his dear children. Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.

NOTE: Jesus gave his life so that you could be reconciled with God, so you could become his children. In living a life filled with God’s love and direction from Jesus, you will be walking a blessed path. As a child of God you are an heir to the Kingdom of Heaven; don’t ever forsake your rights as an heir of God for the lack of living a life filled with love and compassion for others.

James 2-4 Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any know come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.

NOTE: Endurance is one of the biggest attributes for a teenager; a time to grow in everything you do; a time to make decisions that may well affect your entire life. Your teenage years is one of the most important times you will encounter because it’s a time for joy, a time for tears, and a time for growth both in mind, body, and spirit.

Galatians 6:9 So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith.

NOTE: God starts his teaching by helping others less fortunate than yourself in your early years. Have you ever seen a small child go up to a stranger and offer them some of the food they are holding, or a drink from the child’s cup? You see the parents of the child running to their aid, to get them away from that person; what they don’t realize is that God uses these little ones to strengthen other people; who better than a child to teach us the goodness of God. How often do you stop and offer aid to another person, a homeless person who needs a meal, a young person who needs comforting? During the teenage years God may lead you to do these things, don’t allow anyone to prevent you from helping another. Listen to what God is telling you.

Psalm 23:1-6 The Lord is my shepherd, I have all that I need. He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.

NOTE: The above scripture is known as “The Lords’ Prayer.” This little prayer, written by King David, is a special way to honor God and give Him glory and thanks for all the goodness He bestows on us every day. Try saying this prayer during the day, and you’ll find that your whole world will calm down and become a meditative time with God even if only for a few minutes; God will remind you of its meaning throughout the day. When you feel hurt, sad or lonely utter these words and I assure you the sun will instantly begin to shine once again.

Psalm 34:17-18 The Lord hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.

NOTE: There’s a lot of time spent in heartbreak during the teenage years; the not quite adult child is delving into relationships during this time; they find it is not as easy as they may think to get involved with the opposite sex and actually maintain a healthy, loving bond. A teenager may go through many relationships during this time and each one will add a little more to their character and understanding of how to maintain a healthy connection with another person.

Zephaniah 3:17 For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.

NOTE: God is telling you that He loves and cares for you no matter what you do. All things (with the exception of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit) can be forgiven; ask Jesus to forgive your sins and walk with you; praise His name and He will always come to your aid, no matter what.

Isaiah 40:30-31 Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

NOTE: God wants you to know that if you get tired and weary in your lifetime, turn to Him and He will give you new life; new strength so you can fly through your life like an eagle with mighty wings. Always look to God for your answers.

Joshua 1:9 This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

NOTE: God is always reassuring us that He is here, with us, holding our hands and leading us on the path of Righteousness. You will never know real peace, happiness, and love until you decide to give your life to Jesus.

Conclusion

If you decide to give yourself to the Lord, follow Him and obey His commands; you will never be alone; you don’t have to feel hopeless; He will always be by your side, aiding, comforting, loving, and encouraging you to maintain your walk with Him; find out what real—true happiness is.

Don’t be concerned about what others say, chances are they would really like to have the courage you have in deciding to walk with Jesus.

Let them know how truly happy and content you really are.
