How To Believe God For A Miracle

Do you need a miracle in your life right now? Are you facing a seemingly impossible situation that only God can fix? Take heart, my friend. Our God is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). He is the God of the impossible, and He delights in showing Himself strong on behalf of those who believe in Him (2 Chronicles 16:9).

In this post, I want to encourage you to believe God for your miracle. Here are some practical tips on how you can exercise bold faith to receive the breakthrough you need:

Key Takeaways:

  • Renew your mind with the Word of God concerning His ability and willingness to perform miracles
  • Present your need to God in prayer with thanksgiving and praise
  • Believe you have received when you pray and confess it by faith
  • Refuse to worry or doubt; rest in His promises
  • Be patient and persistent; don’t give up
  • Give Him all the glory when He moves on your behalf
how to believe God for a miracle

Renew Your Mind with the Word of God

The first step to believing God for a miracle is renewing your mind with what His Word says about His ability and willingness to intervene supernaturally. The Bible tells us that with God, nothing shall be impossible (Luke 1:37). Jesus said that if we have faith as small as a mustard seed, we can move mountains (Matthew 17:20). We serve a miracle-working God!

Spend time meditating on scriptures about God’s mighty power:

“Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You.” (Jeremiah 32:17)

“Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?” (Jeremiah 32:27)

“But Jesus looked at them and said to them, ‘With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.'” (Matthew 19:26)

“Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the appointed time I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.” (Genesis 18:14)

As you fill your mind and heart with promises of God’s supernatural power, your faith to believe for a miracle will begin to rise. Don’t focus on how big the need is; focus on how big your God is! He is well able to meet your every need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). What seems impossible to you is possible with God (Luke 18:27).

Present Your Need to God in Prayer with Thanksgiving and Praise

Once your mind is renewed, the next step is to come boldly before God’s throne of grace in prayer to make your request known (Hebrews 4:16). Follow the pattern of the believers in Acts 4:23-31 who lifted up their voices together in prayer after being threatened by the authorities. They prayed, beginning with adoration and worship for who God is. Then they rehearsed His promises, asked boldly for a manifestation of His power, and concluded with more praise.

As you present your miracle need to your Father, start by praising Him for who He is – the All-Powerful, Nothing-Is-Too-Difficult God who loves you and cares for you. Thank Him in advance, by faith, for the miracle you are requesting of Him. Declare your confidence in His ability to do the impossible. Ask Him specifically for what you need. And close your prayer time with more grateful praise for His mighty hand at work on your behalf.

Power-filled prayer offered in unwavering faith is key to receiving the manifestation of the miracle you are believing God for. He hears and responds!

Believe You Have Received When You Pray and Confess It By Faith

A key principle of faith that Jesus taught is believing that we have received when we pray:

“Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” (Mark 11:24)

This verse encourages us to believe in advance, before experiencing tangible evidence in the natural realm, that God has granted what we requested in prayer. When you boldly ask God for a miracle, believe in your heart that He has answered your prayer. If you pray and then immediately start questioning whether God will really do it, you are doubting rather than believing.

The Bible says, “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” (Mark 11:24 NIV). After you have prayed in faith for your miracle, begin to rejoice, praise God and confess boldly by faith that you have received it. Even if you do not yet see the answer manifested, continue to walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). God honors faith.

Refuse to Worry or Doubt; Rest in His Promises

When we pray for a miracle and then start worrying whether God will answer or not, it shows a lack of trust in Him. Worry and fear will hinder your faith. That is why the Bible instructs us:

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7)

Once you have presented your request to God and thanked Him in advance for the miracle by faith, leave it in His capable hands. Refuse anxious thoughts. Whenever worries start to creep in, rebuke them in Jesus’ name. Remind yourself of God’s promises and ability. “Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.” (Psalm 55:22)

Rest in the peace and assurance that the God who promised is faithful (Hebrews 10:23). He knows the plans He has for you – plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). Entrust your miracle need to Him in total confidence that He will answer in His perfect timing.

Be Patient and Persistent; Don’t Give Up

Often, we want instant solutions to our problems from God. However, His timing is not ours (Isaiah 55:8). Miracles manifest on His divine timeline, not ours. Patience is required as we contend in faith for breakthrough. Waiting is part of the faith and diligence needed in receiving God’s best.

The Bible encourages us:

“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” (Galatians 6:9)

Keep praying persistently as the believers did in Acts 12 when Peter was imprisoned. Although there was an intense time of intercession, the answer was not immediate. But they kept praying until God sent an angel to miraculously deliver Peter from prison!

Do not relent in praying and believing until your miracle manifests. Your persistent faith will be rewarded in God’s perfect timing!

Give God All the Glory for the Miracle

Miracles happen because of God’s grace and power at work, not because of any effort or righteousness on our part. That is why when we receive a miracle from God’s hand, He expects us to respond with humble thanksgiving and praise to give Him all the glory for what He has done. As you rejoice in your miracle, be careful not to allow pride regarding your faith to creep in. Boast only in the Lord (1 Corinthians 1:31).

The Bible says regarding the miraculous healing of the lame man:

“Now when Peter saw it, he responded to the people: “Men of Israel, why do you marvel at this? Or why look so intently at us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk?” (Acts 3:12)

Like Peter, direct all attention to Jesus. Celebrate and testify of the miracle, giving praise and thanks to God who is the Giver of every good and perfect gift (James 1:17). Your miracle brings glory to the Lord when you magnify Him rather than magnifying your faith. May all the praise and honor be unto Him alone!

Believe God for Your Breakthrough!

What miracle are you standing in faith for today? Take hold of the principles and promises in God’s Word, and believe God for the breakthrough you need. Nothing is impossible for Him! Approach His throne boldly and persistently. Refuse doubt and worry. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, not your circumstances. Rejoice in confident expectation as you thank Him for performing the miracle in His timing and for His glory. He is faithful!

I pray these practical tips on believing God for a miracle have encouraged and equipped you. May you experience His miraculous power at work in your life today! He is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). Believe this, stand on His Word, and you will see His mighty hand move on your behalf. God bless you!
