Bible Verses For Overwhelming Times

Do You Know What A Nervous Breakdown Feels Like? That You Just Can’t Cope With Everything That’s Going On In Your Life?

Unless you have been living as a Monk on the top of a mountain in Tibet, you may never have been under that kind of pressure; but even then, I’m pretty sure that a Monk is not always free from anxiety and worry; that’s called being “overwhelmed.” A little like Jesus when He entered the Temple and found money changers and sacrificial animals being sold, He appeared to be quite overwhelmed with the evil things going on in the House of the Lord. You’ve probably gone through times of feeling overwhelmed with your everyday tasks and responsibilities; it may feel as though you are carrying so much responsibility you just can’t cope with one more thing.

According to the dictionary “overwhelmed” means “to bury or drown beneath a huge mass; defeat completely; to be inundated with something.” With an understanding of what the word actually means, you will get a better idea of how to handle the feeling of being overwhelmed when it enters your space. There is a multitude of things that can cause you to become overwhelmed; it could come about by difficult situations like how you’re going to pay your bills; you can become overwhelmed by attempting to select a special restaurant to have an anniversary dinner. The pressure comes from how many choices you have to work with and how important it is to make the right choice.

Being overwhelmed in a situation doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a bad situation but rather something you can’t handle at the moment; in that case, you should get your Bible and read for a while (Proverbs is a good place to start). I can guarantee that your problems will be answered when you finish reading.

Included in this article are some scriptures that may help you understand how to thoroughly trust Jesus with all your heart; all your mind; and all your soul, simply put Him before all else.

Bible Verses For Overwhelming Times

Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.

NOTE: When you think of protection, love, companionship, and peace, the only thing that should be on your mind is the precious Holy name of “Jesus Christ” for He is truly your refuge from any storm.

Romans 8:18-28 Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later. For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are. Against its will, all creation was subjected to God’s curse. But with eager hope, the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay. For we know that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children, including the new bodies he has promised us. We were given this hope when we were saved. (If we already have something, we don’t need to hope for it. But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have we must wait patiently and confidently.)

And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will. And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

NOTE: Think about the above scripture, it tells you how much God loves and cares for you; and has throughout the ages. It’s the same thing when you get overwhelmed with something, God is right there to help you through the adversity of the situation. The Holy Spirit, who lives within each believer, prays to God for you, He knows what you need in your prayers to our Father, and is always there on your behalf.

Philippians 4:6-7 Don’t worry about anything instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

NOTE: Living with Christ Jesus, the Holy Spirit and our Father God within your heart is the most miraculous thing you could ever endure; the love, compassion, mercy, grace, and glory our Trinity holds for us is unimaginable. We need to live every day of our lives as though we were going to see Jesus’ face in the flesh at any moment. Live for God, not for human existence. There is nothing on this earth or even in your wildest imagination that could ever come anywhere near to what heaven offers.

Hebrews 13:20-21 Now may the God of peace—who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, and ratified an eternal covenant with his blood—may he equip you with all you need for doing his will. May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him. All glory to him forever and ever! Amen.

Conclusion

Remember the above scripture and keep it close to your heart for only Jesus can prepare you to enter into heaven and spend eternity with God the Father, Jesus the Son, and God’s Holy Spirit.
