You can learn a lot from their examples. No matter your situation, there’s a Bible character who faced something similar and succeeded. By studying their stories, you can learn the strategies they used and apply them to your own life.

So, what are you waiting for? Start preparing for your future today!

Bible Characters Who Prepared

Noah: Preparing for the Storm

Most people know the story of Noah and the great flood. But many don’t know that Noah had been preparing for that storm for many years. He knew it was coming and took steps to ensure he and his family were ready.

In the same way, we can prepare for the storms that life throws our way. We may not know what’s coming, but if we’re proactive and think about it, we can be ready for anything.

One way to do this is to have a financial cushion. If you have a few months’ worths of living expenses saved up, you’ll be better able to cope with a job loss or unexpected expense. Another is to have a plan in case of an emergency. If you have to evacuate your home, do you have a place to go?

The key is not to wait until the storm hits to start thinking about it. The time to prepare is now when the sun is still shining.

Joseph: Preparing for the Future

Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers, but he never stopped preparing for the future. He knew that he would be free one day and needed to be ready.

He didn’t just stockpile supplies or build a shelter—Joseph prepared by learning. He studied languages and learned to interpret dreams. He knew that his time would come and was ready for it.

When the time finally came, Joseph was able to save his family and lead them to safety. He used the knowledge and skills that he had acquired over the years, and it saved his life.

You never know what the future might hold, but you can prepare for it by studying and learning as much as possible. The more you know, the better equipped you’ll be to face whatever comes your way.

Nehemiah: Rebuilding the City With Preparation

The book of Nehemiah is all about rebuilding Jerusalem after exile. But Nehemiah didn’t just jump in and start construction. He prepared first.

He gathered the people together and ensured they had the needed supplies. He set up a system of organization and discipline. He planned out the project and made a schedule for everyone to follow. And he made sure the people were on board with his vision.

Only after he had done all of this did he start construction. And even then, he continued to prepare by praying and seeking God’s guidance.

We can learn a lot from Nehemiah’s example. If we want to achieve anything significant, we need to prepare first. We must gather resources, organize ourselves, and develop a plan. And we need to make sure everyone is on board with our vision. Only then can we start moving forward

Daniel: Being Prepared for Anything

Some have described the story of Daniel as a parable of preparedness. Daniel was a faithful servant of God, and although he was forced to live in a strange land, he prepared well for whatever life threw at him. He knew how to assess the situation and take action when needed.

Daniel didn’t just wait for things to happen—he took appropriate steps to be ready for anything. He kept up his routine of worshiping God and spent plenty of time studying and reflecting on what he had learned.

He also learned how to socialize with those around him, so he could better understand the culture he was living in.

This attitude of being prepared for whatever might come his way served Daniel well, no matter the situation. It’s an example that we can all learn from today when faced with uncertainty or difficulty. Being prepared can open us up to new opportunities and help us better tackle life’s challenges.

Abraham and Sarah: Preparing for a Miracle

The biblical account of Abraham and Sarah is a perfect example of preparation. At a time when God promised them a miraculous blessing, they responded by planning and setting down long-term foundations on which to build their lives.

For example, Abraham “bought a burial site” before his wife or son were even born (Genesis 23:4). In doing so, he was preparing for a miracle even before it began. He trusted that God would fulfill His promise and do what He said He would do – even though it seemed impossible!

Likewise, Sarah also made preparations; she filled her home with clothing, furniture, and utensils in preparation for the many descendants God promised. All these acts of faith were models of trust in God’s promises even though, humanly speaking, it didn’t make much sense.

So as you work towards your own goal or dream, don’t forget to plan like these Bible characters did — trusting that God will eventually do what He said He would do if you put in the hard work, exercise patience and tenacity, and keep your focus on the end goal.

David: Preparing With Faith and Courage

Let’s look at the story of David. David was a man of faith and courage who prepared for the possibility of threats, attacks or hardship by storing supplies for himself and his men in anticipation of future needs. He deeply trusted God, believing that everything he did was guided by God’s hand.

David prepared, and it paid off; when his enemies besieged him, he had enough supplies to endure the ordeal and the worst-case scenario. He also made sure to have provisions while on the run so that he could survive in any situation.

David is a model for us today: we must trust in God and prepare for our needs. We should use our resources wisely and store up foodstuffs ahead of time just as David did so that if something happens, we can endure it with courage and faith.

Conclusion

With everything going on in the world, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and stressed. But we can learn much from the Bible characters who prepared for the worst. Instead of giving up or feeling helpless, they did what they could to ensure they were ready for anything.

We can learn from their example that it’s never too late to prepare for whatever might come our way. And even when things are tough, we can find strength in God to help us. As long as we stay prepared and faithful, we can overcome anything.
