Father’s Day Quotes To Bless Your Dad

The Choice to Honor Fathers

Both my grandfather and my father have already passed on but as a father, I appreciate being remembered and encouraged every once in a while.

These Christian quotes and sayings about fathers will help you encourage and bless your father not just on Father’s day but all across the year.

In our society, the role of father’s and the institution of fatherhood has come under serious attack.

Role models and examples of great fatherhood are rarely celebrated.

It is my hope that as you read what others have said about fathers and fatherhood, you will find that a good father is something to be cherished and celebrated.

“A good father is one of the most unsung, unpraised, unnoticed, and yet one of the most valuable assets in our society.” – Billy Graham

“It is easier for a father to have children than for children to have a real father.” – Pope John XXIII

It is a wise father who knows his child. But maybe it’s a very wise child who takes time to know his father. – Anonymous

The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother. – Henry Ward Beecher

A father’s responsibility is not to make the child’s decisions, but to let the child watch him make his. – Ed Cole

God is the archetypal Father; all other fatherhood is a more or less imperfect copy of his perfect fatherhood. – F.F. Bruce

Any man who declares children to be born perfect never was a father. Your child without evil? You without eyes, you mean!- Charles Spurgeon

Alan Redpath had two daughters who loved to swarm him when he came home at night. As he came in the door one evening, his little girls ran to meet him. One grabbed his leg and hugged him with all her might. He snatched the other daughter up in his arms. The one squeezing his leg said, “Now, I’ve got all of Daddy.” The daughter in his arms replied, “Yes, but Daddy has got all of me!” Perhaps the question we need to continually ask is, “Does God have all of me?” – Alan Redpath

Each day of our lives we make deposits in the memory banks of our children. – Charles (Chuck) Swindoll

A man ought to live so that everybody knows he is a Christian…and most of all, his family ought to know. – Dwight L Moody

God wants men to be free. Free to demonstrate toughness when a situation or relationship demands it. Free to display grit, strength, commitment, and decisiveness under the Holy Spirit’s direction. God also wants me to be free to demonstrate tenderness, sensitivity and humility. Free to be vulnerable enough to foster intimacy and to shed tears. Authentic masculinity produces a divine elasticity in men. Finally they can lead with firmness, then submit with humility. They can challenge with a cutting edge, then encourage with enthusiasm. They can fight aggressively for a just cause, then moments later weep over suffering. Secure, free, authentic men leave a mark – on their colleagues, friends, wives, and especially their children. – Bill Hybels

The greatness of a man’s power is the measure of his surrender. – William Booth

Maturity doesn’t come with age; it comes with acceptance of responsibility. – Ed Cole

One father is more than a hundred schoolmasters. – George Herbert

The most authentic witnesses of any man’s character are those who know him in his own family, and see him without any restraint or rule of conduct, but such as he voluntarily prescribes to himself. If a man carries virtue with him into his private apartments, and takes no advantage of unlimited power or probable secrecy; if we trace him through the round of time, and find that his character, with those allowances which mortal frailty must always want, is uniform and regular, we have all the evidence of his sincerity that one man can have with regard to another; and, indeed, as hypocrisy cannot be its own reward, we may, without hesitation, determine that his heart is pure. – Samuel Johnson

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE CHRISTIAN QUOTES CONCERNING FATHERS?

I had to search quite hard to compile this list of quotes encouraging fatherhood.

Between fathers not being considered very important in our society and the lousy Google search results, it was no easy task to come up with Christian quotes about fathers.

What are some of your favorite sayings about fathers or even better yet, what are some of the quotes you remember your father saying that stuck with you for the rest of your life? My father used to say

“Can’t”, never did anything – Terry Taber

What did your father use to say?
