Bible Verses On Stress

In the dictionary, the word “stress” has several meanings; to stress a point; being under the influence of anxiety; being overloaded with problems at work or home, or just feeling frustrated that something is not going the way you want it to. If you open your Bible and begin reading (it doesn’t matter where), just get into the Word of God and in a matter of minutes, you will have lost your stress without even realizing it. You should keep in mind that God is always by your side and Jesus is holding your hand. You are not only safe in God’s arms but there is no “stress” in heaven; what a wonderful place heaven must be.

Bible scriptures on stress

God tells us not to worry about our life here on earth because He will take care of every need, including feeding and clothing us; remember, as stated in the Bible if you, “ask it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you” (Matthew 7:7). Our Father God is there for all his children anytime we need him which I find is all the time; all we need do is give our lives to Him then love Him and obey His commands. Perhaps the scriptures below will help you understand better how to control the stresses in your life.

Bible Verses About Stress

Isaiah 26:3 You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.

NOTE: Isaiah was indicating that people who keep God first in their mind and heart will have no worries, stress, or anxiety; He is always there and will assist his children (followers) with any situation that causes those negative cares or feelings. Simply ask for peace in your life and with your faith, it will be given to you.

Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

NOTE: If you look at these scriptures with your heart you will see how important you are to God. He is telling you over and over that He is there for you and will never leave you nor break a promise to you, for you are his created children.

Psalms 28:7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him and He helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise Him.

NOTE: So you can see through this scripture that the more you love and honor God, the more peace and joy you will have in your life. Always give to Him praise and glory through song or prayer whichever you wish. God is elated to hear you speaking to Him in any form and at any time. Give Him the attention He most assuredly deserves.

Psalms 34:4-5 I sought the LORD, and He answered me; He delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.

NOTE: If you live your life devoted to God, you will find your fears just disappear; only God can remove all those negative feelings and thoughts; it is through God that we exist and when we turn our lives over to Him and give Him the praise he deserves, you will find you are living in a constant circle of love, peace and joy. Pray to Him every day; show your love for Him through song, prayer or just simply talking to Him.

Psalms 42:5 Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.

NOTE: Jesus is always holding your hand and helping you through rough times here on earth. When you allow yourself to become depressed or feeling low, start talking to Jesus; just speaking to Him is a prayer and He is always listening to your concerns. Through this little gesture you will find joy returning to your heart; always keep Him in your heart and on your mind.

Psalms 57:1 Have mercy on me, my God, have mercy on me, for in you I take refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed.

NOTE: Our living God always watches over you and by asking for help, He will be there with you instantly. If you have an earnest heart and desires to share His love and great mercy He will give it. If trouble is haunting you, He will let you hide within His might love. Never fear that the Lord will abandon you, for He came to this earth in human flesh to show you how much He and our Father loves you; Jesus gave His life in the most horrible way you can imagine, to forgive all your sins, past, present and future. So know in your heart that He will have mercy when you call to Him.

Matthew 6:33-34 But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

NOTE:  This scripture tells us if you “live one day at a time” you don’t have to worry or stress about what’s going to happen tomorrow; for some, tomorrow may never come. God may have something wonderful planned for you which could give you an entirely new beginning to your life. Our Father watches to make sure His followers are well taken care of. If there is a problem you are stressing over, simply ask God to take care of the problem, hand it over to Him and close the book on it. God will always satisfy your needs.

1 Peter 6-7 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.

NOTE: God is telling you in this scripture that He is always with you, He knows your every thought and action. He hears every word that comes out of your mouth and when you ask Him for something you need He will make sure you are supplied. Cast your worries on His loving arms and go free as He intended you to.
