The Best Bible Verses For Kids That Parents Can Teach To Their Children

It cannot be overstated how important it is to teach children the Word of God. The Bible is God’s gift to us all, children included. It reveals the character and priorities of God and guides us in how to please Him.

Deuteronomy 6:6,7 reminds us, “And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.”

Here are some important Bible verses for kids that lay a good foundation for an ever-growing relationship with God.

Genesis 1:1
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

It is so important for children to know and understand that God exists and created everything.

Genesis 1:27
So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

Among God’s many amazing creations, we are special – beautifully and wonderfully made in His image.

Matthew 10:30,31
And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.

God is an all-loving God who loves each one of us as individuals. We are all precious to him!

Romans 3:23
For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.

Unfortunately, we have all done things that displease God.

John 3:16
For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

Romans 5:8
But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

Yet His love is so great that he sent His own Son, Jesus, to pay the price for our sins. Jesus died on the cross so that we can all have a relationship with God.

Acts 13:30,31
But God raised him from the dead! And over a period of many days he appeared to those who had gone with him from Galilee to Jerusalem. They are now his witnesses to the people of Israel.

And on the third day, Jesus became alive again!

1 John 1:9
But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

God promises us that if we sincerely confess our sins, He will always forgive us.

Revelation 21:4
He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

As His children, we can look forward to being with God in a perfectly happy place one day – heaven!

2 Timothy 3:16
All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.

While we are still on this earth, the Bible guides us in living a life that pleases and glorifies God.

Ephesians 6:1
Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord, for this is the right thing to do.

One way we can please God is by obeying our parents.

Philippians 4:6,7
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

God is also happy when we talk with him. He promises that he listens to all our prayers.

1 Timothy 4:12
Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.

No matter how young we may be, we all have an important part to play in God’s kingdom.

1 John 4:20
If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a fellow believer, that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see?

We demonstrate our love for God by loving others.

John 15:12
This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you.

We should make every effort to love each other, not just with words, but with kind words and actions.

Luke 3:11
If you have two shirts, give one to the poor. If you have food, share it with those who are hungry.

One way to show love to each other is by sharing our things.

Hebrews 10:24,25
Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.

Going to church and meeting other believers helps us to love each other more.

Matt 19:14
But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.”

Jesus loves children! And he desperately wants them to come to Him.
