Bible Verses About Mercy – God’s Mercy Quotes

Our God is a Merciful God

While driving home from the store tonight I was reflecting on the mercy of God and how many times I have deserved judgment but received mercy.

I decided I would post a list of Bible verses about mercy to show how much God has been merciful to us and given us so much because of His heart of love towards us.

There was a time in my life where I was very quick to judge others and to lay condemnation upon them. It was only after having an epiphany of sorts about the grace and mercy of God that a transformation in the way I thought and felt started to happen.

It is because of that transformation that there are times that I refuse to feed the monster of legalism by addressing certain types of subjects.

I could point fingers at certain types of sins, or focus on things that critical and legalistic people like to focus on but I have found that mercy triumphs over judgment,

I hope that as you read these verses about mercy, you will see that Jesus knew this principle and wants you to follow Him in applying it.

My Final Thoughts About The Mercy Of God

Bible verses about mercy featured image

I think it is extremely obvious in these verses about mercy that if we are to be true followers of Jesus then we better walk in mercy.

Grace has been said to be God giving us what we do not deserve and mercy has been said to be God not giving us what we do deserve.

As followers of Jesus, you are recipients of His grace and mercy,

I think it is time that we all started giving out more grace and mercy and less religion and judgmentalism and start following what the Bible says about mercy.

I think we all need to remember that we are just like this guy.

Luke 18:13

“But the tax collector stood at a distance and dared not even lift his eyes to heaven as he prayed. Instead, he beat his chest in sorrow, saying, ‘O God, be merciful to me, for I am a sinner.’
